Sharing information across many agencies, including State and Territory Governments, has helped create the National Drought Map. The map is an interactive online tool showing drought conditions and support measures happening in Australia.
The map data includes rainfall, soil moisture, number of farm businesses, agricultural types and available support. Data is often shown down to local government area level.
The map shows information from many agencies in one place, so it can help organisations make informed decisions and to build maps from their own data.
The Joint Agency Drought Taskforce commissioned the map, CSIRO and Data 61 created it, and had support from Data Integration Partnership for Australia (DIPA).
