Geoscience Australia’s Digital Earth Australia (DEA) platform is tapping into spatial data and images recorded from space to understand changes in our natural and built environments, and how these changes affect many of our industries – agriculture, mining, water management and town planning just to name a few.
DEA uses high performance computing to analyse the data, providing sets of consistent, time-stamped observations that can be used by government and industry. Users gain insight into a range of environmental factors such as water availability, crop health and ground cover.
The information helps decision making and improves national economic, environmental and social outcomes for our nation.
