BETA began in 2016 with a clear vision—to improve the lives of Australians by putting human behaviour at the heart of government policy.
BETA uses behavioural insights to close the gap between government policies and how people actually behave. Their goal is to ensure that government policies, programs and services are developed with real decision-making and human behaviour in mind. Instead of expecting people to make big changes in their lives, the latest research shows that small, cheap improvements can help nudge people into action.
BETA already uses behavioural insights to improve the lives of Australians. They have completed major projects with over 20 agencies, trained thousands of public servants, and delivered over $25 million in direct benefits to government.
